Andorra Visitors Drop 2.8% to 819k in June 2026 Amid Tourist Decline

Andorra saw 819,673 visitors in June 2026, down 2.8% from the prior year, with tourists falling 4% to 388,490 (47.4% of the total) and day-trippers declining 1.7% to 431,183 (52.6%), according to statistics department data.
Among tourists, Spanish arrivals dropped 2.3% to 257,004, French visitors plunged 14.8% to 66,942, and those from other countries rose 2.1% to 64,544. Day-trippers showed Spanish numbers off 2.6%, French down 2.4%, and other nationalities up 13.7%. Overall, Spanish visitors decreased 2.4% to 374,085, French by 5% to 358,133, and others increased 4.9% to 87,455.
Vehicle entries totaled 325,463, a 4.7% drop, with French-border traffic at Pas de la Casa falling 13.9% to 93,584 and Spanish-border crossings easing 0.4% to 231,879. For the first half of 2026, vehicle totals stood at 1.85 million, down 6.1% year-on-year.
Over the 12 months ending June 2026, visitors reached 8.9 million, off 1.5%, as tourists climbed 4.7% to 4.35 million while day-trippers sank 6.7% to 4.6 million. French visitors decreased 10.4% in that span, offset by 3.3% growth from Spain and 12.4% from elsewhere. Visitor-days year-to-date showed a slight 0.2% dip.
Shopping motivated 51.9% of all trips, ahead of nature activities at 14.1% and sports at 10.4%. Day-trippers shopped for 81.2% of visits, with 7.4% in transit. Tourists favored nature (25.2%), followed by sports such as hiking and biking (20.3%), shopping (18.8%), and wellness (15%).
Stays averaged 2.4 nights, with Spanish tourists at 2.5 and French at 2.2. Hotels, aparthotels, and tourist apartments filled 85.4% of overnights, mainly in Andorra la Vella (33.5%), Escaldes-Engordany (20.6%), La Massana (15.3%), and Canillo (14.2%).
