The Andorran Family Business Association (EFA) has reiterated its call for direct flights from La Seu d'Urgell airport to France, describing the move as highly beneficial for enhancing links to the rest of Europe.
EFA vice-president Paula Tarrado highlighted the value of such a connection with the neighbouring country to the north. In comments to the Andorran News Agency (ANA), she noted that it would help open up access to broader European markets. She also renewed calls for both the La Seu d'Urgell airport and the Andorran heliport to achieve Schengen Area status, arguing this should accompany efforts to build more external routes and ease travel in the passport-free zone.
Addressing the costs of establishing new services, Tarrado voiced strong support for public-private partnerships. She said the EFA backs collaboration between public bodies and private firms, including assessing interest from airlines keen to operate the routes.
