Canillo council has directly awarded Tot Natura SL a €64,951.04 contract, excluding VAT, for landscaping Prat de la Branqueta, a green space opposite the Prat del Riu car park.
The decision, approved by the Governing Board on 8 July, followed a public tender declared void after neither of the two bids met the specifications. The council published the edict in Wednesday's BOPA official gazette. Contractors must finish the work within 15 days, planting grasses adapted to mountain conditions, deciduous and evergreen trees, central shrubbery and an irrigation system.
The 4,500-square-metre site, bought by the council for €2.6 million at the end of 2025, missed opening during the recent festa major due to delays. Completion is now expected before the end of summer, enabling public access.
In May, the council also approved a €140,000 credit supplement to fund additional enhancements, including community gardens and allotments for seniors.
