MoraBanc HQ in Andorra Earns LEED Platinum, First in Country

MoraBanc's headquarters in Andorra la Vella has received LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, becoming the first building in Andorra to earn this highest international accolade for sustainability.

The certification follows an extensive renovation, finalized last year, that achieved a 35% reduction in energy use and a 50% drop in water consumption. Key elements include on-site renewable energy generation, energy-efficient LED systems, and advanced monitoring for resources.

Mireia Maestre, MoraBanc's director of ESG, Institutional Relations, and Shareholders, said the project creates a sustainable, efficient workspace tailored for employees and clients.

Local firms GCA Architects and Cinc Estudio Arquitectura led the redesign, incorporating features to boost occupant health such as abundant natural light, spacious areas, and an onsite restaurant run by Jubany, which helps make it a top-tier office environment.

The LEED—Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design—system assesses buildings on energy and water efficiency, materials, indoor environmental quality, site sustainability, and innovation. Platinum is its highest level.

This achievement underscores MoraBanc's commitment to environmental, social, and governance standards through responsible practices and investments, setting a benchmark for green building in Andorra's financial sector.
