The Ministry of Finance is completing the regulation to develop the law on short-term responses to rising fuel costs. It will cover refund mechanisms and verification systems to ensure subsidies are properly applied at pumps. Executive officials, as reported by the Andorran News Agency (ANA), aim to approve it shortly, after which the control system will activate to confirm accurate price reductions.
The reductions, split between the government and fuel sector, amounted to 0.15 euros per litre for petrol and 0.10 euros per litre for diesel in July compared to unsubsidized levels. These amounts will fluctuate through August and September, reverting on 1 October to conditions before the Iran conflict began inflating prices in March.
The initiative seeks to cushion consumers and businesses from global fuel price increases. No specific approval date has been announced.
