Andorra Hotel Occupancy Hits 70.13% in July, Up Nearly 4 Points

Hotels affiliated with the Unió Hotelera d’Andorra (UHA) achieved a 70.13% occupancy rate in July, marking a 3.95 percentage point increase from 66.18% in 2025. The UHA described the figure as a positive evolution for the summer campaign, meeting initial expectations and reinforcing Andorra’s appeal as a destination for nature-based and outdoor tourism.

Officials attributed the gains to shifting tourist preferences toward nearby, secure mountain areas amid extreme coastal heat. This result represents Andorra’s strongest July performance since 2018, excluding the pandemic-affected 2020, surpassing 2023’s 65.75% and 2024’s 64.66%. Earlier months lagged, with May at 40.07%—down roughly 10 points from 2025—and June at 50.65%, a 2.6-point decline year-on-year.

The sector continues to prioritize desestacionalització to extend tourism beyond peak summer and winter periods. The UHA emphasized ongoing collaboration among government, parishes, and professionals to build demand in low seasons and reduce reliance on high-volume months.

Attention now focuses on August, which will define the summer balance. UHA data shows current bookings slightly exceeding last year’s pace, echoing robust winter results. The Associació d’Empreses d’Allotjaments Turístics (AEAT), surveying 15 members managing 583 tourist apartments, projects a weighted average occupancy of 57.2% for the month—a potential rise of over 30 points from June.

Forecasts vary by area: Arinsal leads at 90%, followed by El Tarter at 71.3% and Ordino at 69.3%. Canillo expects 55%, Pas de la Casa 45.3%, and Encamp the lowest at 30%. Pas de la Casa holds the most units at 255, ahead of El Tarter’s 149 and Arinsal’s 50. For July apartments, averages ranged 60-65%, with Ordino at 83.4%, Bordes d’Envalira at 82.4%, and Arinsal at 75%; Encamp trailed at 10% and Pas de la Casa at 45.3%.

AEAT noted an upward summer trajectory for apartments, from June’s 27% to July’s 44.5%. The UHA cautioned that data remain preliminary, with a full seasonal analysis pending final August figures.
