Provisional data from Andorra's statistics department show inflation rising slightly to 4.3% year-on-year in July, up 0.1 points from June's 4.2%.
The advanced consumer price index (CPI), published on Monday, points to this increase driven primarily by transport price trends, countered by declines in clothing and footwear. Monthly, prices fell 0.4%, an improvement from the 0.5% drop in July last year.
Clothing and footwear prices dropped the most at 8.8% month-on-month. Transport costs fell 1.8%. Housing, water, gas, electricity and other fuels rose 0.7%.
The data suggest inflation has been climbing in recent months, though these remain preliminary estimates awaiting confirmation.
Andorra's rate exceeds neighbouring Spain's 3.5% and France's 2.1%. Both countries expect a 0.3-point monthly rise if their figures hold.
