Andorra Inflation Steady at 4.2% in July, Below Forecasts

Statistics Andorra confirmed the rate matched June's level, with year-to-date inflation trailing neighbors. Declines in clothing and transport offset housing gains, while core measure climbed to 3.8%. Spain hit 3.6%, France 2.1%.

Key Points

  • Annual inflation held at 4.2%, matching June and under 4.3% preliminary figure.
  • Monthly prices dropped 0.4%, driven by clothing, footwear, and transport costs.
  • Year-to-date inflation at 2.4%, behind Spain's 2.6% and France's 2.7%.
  • Core inflation rose to 3.8% from 3.2%, excluding fresh foods and energy.

Andorra's annual inflation rate remained steady at 4.2% in July, unchanged from June and slightly below the initial 4.3% estimate released earlier this month, Statistics Andorra reported on Monday.

The year-to-date inflation figure stands at 2.4%, trailing Spain's 2.6% and France's 2.7%. On a monthly basis, prices fell 0.4% from June levels—less than the 0.5% drop seen in July 2025—with declines led by clothing and footwear, alongside lower transport costs.

Housing, water, gas, electricity and other fuels recorded small increases that partially offset the broader dip. Annually, clothing and footwear, as well as housing-related expenses, drove the overall rise, while transport and non-alcoholic food and beverages helped contain it.

Core inflation, excluding unprocessed fresh foods and energy, increased by six tenths to 3.8% from 3.2% in June.

Spain's annual rate rose to 3.6% in July from the prior month, fueled by transport costs at 6.2%—mainly fuel and lubricants—and housing at 5.7%, linked to electricity prices. France's rate edged up to 2.1% from 1.8%, with services at 2.2%, energy at 12.6% and food at 1.0%.
