Andorra Jobseekers Hit Yearly Low at 213 as Wages Rise to 2,760 Euros

Andorra's number of registered jobseekers fell to 213 at the end of July, the lowest in a year, while new figures show average May wages nearing 2,760 euros and salaried workers topping 44,700.
Data from the Statistics Department indicate a 2.3% monthly drop from June's 218 jobseekers and a 16.5% decline from 255 in July 2025. Those seeking improved positions numbered 175, down 0.6% from June and 2.8% year-on-year. Additionally, 70 employed people used job services, and three remained on medical leave beyond six months.
Vacancies totalled 1,668 by July's end, a 7.2% decrease from June's 1,798 and 5.3% below last July's 1,762. Artisans and skilled workers in industry and construction led with 35% or 583 spots, followed by services, hospitality, security, and sales at 24.9% or 416, and unskilled roles at 22.2% or 371.
The Employment Service arranged 18 direct hires, up two from June and six from last July, plus four via temporary programmes. Independently, 46 jobseekers secured positions.
Among the 213, 170 or 79.8% had been unemployed under six months, with 93.3% out of work less than a year. The 40-59 age group was largest at 85, followed by 26-39 at 49. Women made up 51.2% (109), men 48.8% (104). Andorrans accounted for 49.3% (105), Spaniards 23% (49), Portuguese 10, French seven, and others 42.
Involuntary unemployment benefits went to 13 people, down 7.1% from June but up 44.4% from last July's nine.
Separate May 2026 statistics (semi-final) reveal average gross wages of 2,760.46 euros, a 7.7% rise from 2,564.21 euros the prior year. The median wage stood at 2,235.73 euros, or 81% of the average, with the most common bracket at 1,500-1,600 euros monthly. Total declared payroll reached 123.47 million euros at CASS, up 10.4% year-on-year.
Salaried employment grew 2.5% to 44,729 workers, adding 1,112 from May 2025. Agriculture, livestock, hunting, and forestry rose 8.2%, construction 5.6%, while domestic staff homes fell 3%. Retail trade wages climbed 14.5% to 2,405.99 euros, vehicle sales and repair 12.7% to 2,680.43 euros, and finance 11.3% to 4,972.10 euros.
