Andorra Awards 26 Affordable Housing Units in Borda Nova I

The Institut Nacional de l’Habitatge (INH) has awarded 26 of the 44 affordable public housing units in Andorra la Vella’s Borda Nova I building on Carrer Terra Vella.

The final list of recipients was published in Wednesday’s Butlletí Oficial del Principat d’Andorra (BOPA) following a notarial draw on 20 August that resolved scoring ties and assigned units based on family size. The public call opened on 20 July, requiring prior registration by 19 July and applications by 4 August.

All 15 one-bedroom units have been allocated, with four reserve households holding provisional rents between €412.10 and €497.98. The six three-bedroom flats are fully assigned, backed by two reserves at €431.77 and €480.15. Demand was insufficient for the 23 two-bedroom units, with only five awarded and no reserves available. None of the three ground-floor adapted units—doors A, B, and D—received applicants, as no registered family met the accessibility requirements.

Monthly rents for assigned units range from €425.85 to €1,008.08. Beneficiaries must sign administrative use contracts within one month of the BOPA publication and will receive individual notices specifying appointment times, final rents, and security deposit details. Failure to sign results in forfeiture, with reserves filling vacancies where available.

Victims of gender-based violence among applicants receive private notifications and are excluded from the public list. Separate waiting lists now exist for one- and three-bedroom units.
