Andorra Median Salary Hits €2,235 in June, Up 4.5% YoY

Andorra's median declared salary reached €2,235.35 in June, up 4.5% from the previous year, while the average salary stood at €2,775.65, the Department of Statistics reported Friday.

This median figure indicates that half of salaried workers earned below it and half above. The average rose 4.8% year-on-year from €2,647.48, creating a gap exceeding €540, with the median equating to 80.5% of the average.

The €1,900-€2,000 bracket remained the most common, encompassing 5.1% of workers. Salaried employment expanded 3.2% to 45,726 from 44,323 a year prior, pushing the total wage mass up 8.2% to €126.92 million.

Construction drove much of the growth, with an 8.2% employment increase and 17.3% wage mass rise. Agriculture, livestock, hunting and forestry followed with 7.6% more jobs and 13.3% higher wages. Households employing domestic staff bucked the trend, down 5% in employment.

Among occupations, office, hotel and similar cleaning staff saw the largest employment gain at 8.5%. Average pay in key roles included €1,813 for cleaners, €1,743 for waiters and bartenders, €1,897 for shop assistants, and €2,084 for cooks.

Sector medians showed the biggest year-on-year jumps in electricity, gas and water production and distribution, up 12.9%, and construction at 10.9% to €2,992.88. Average salaries topped out in energy at €6,087, finance at €4,793, and were lowest in hospitality (€1,995), domestic employment (€1,995) and agriculture (€2,057). No sector recorded a year-on-year average decline, though education's median dipped 0.2%.

Preliminary July figures suggest momentum persists: salaried workers provisionally numbered 46,096, up 2.8%; the average salary hit €2,787, up 5.8%; the median reached €2,255, up 5.4%; and wage mass grew 8.7% to €128.49 million. These remain subject to revision.
