Andorra Telecom handed over 13 official robotics competition boards to educational centres across the country on Wednesday, following the National Final of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2026 Andorra held last weekend.
The boards, used in educational robotics contests, will now function as classroom resources to boost practical learning. This donation has been welcomed by both the Ministry of Institutional Relations, Education and Universities and the receiving schools, which plan to integrate the materials into active, engaging robotics activities.
The ministry is rolling out a comprehensive plan to guide students toward responsible and critical technology use, positioning it as a tool for holistic education with clear pedagogical aims. Andorra Telecom's effort supports this by advancing robotics and innovation among children and teens, with a focus on fostering STEAM vocations—spanning science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
Through these tools, students can gain hands-on experience in computational thinking, programming, robot design and assembly. The resources also enable schools and clubs to deliver multidisciplinary, competency-based lessons.
The company has championed educational robotics for more than a decade, sponsoring competitions such as the World Robot Olympiad, FIRST LEGO League and VEX to connect youth with technology and cultivate future talent.
Recipients comprise primary schools in Canillo, Encamp, La Massana, Andorra la Vella, Sant Julià de Lòria, Escaldes-Engordany and Pas de la Casa; Col·legi Janer; the Spanish Col·legi María Moliner in Escaldes-Engordany; and French schools in Andorra la Vella, Escaldes-Engordany, Sant Julià de Lòria and Canillo.
