Andorra has launched Film Andorra, a collaborative platform led by the government, Andorra Business, and Andorra Turisme to bolster the audiovisual sector, diversify the economy, and promote the country as a filming destination.
The project, presented by Tourism and Commerce Minister Jordi Torres alongside Presidency, Economy, Employment, and Housing Minister Conxita Marsol and Culture, Youth, and Sports Minister Mònica Bonell, includes €900,000 in funding through the end of 2027. This budget will support a dedicated website to compile data on local resources and invite contributions from the sector, Bonell noted, aiming to raise the profile of Andorra's audiovisual landscape.
The platform acts as an intermediary for international producers, channeling requests and connecting them with around 90 identified local companies and professionals. It will facilitate active outreach to global projects, organize national industry events, and provide visibility for Andorran talent that companies can hire. Around 30 firms attended a preview presentation ahead of the public rollout.
No new legal entity or bureaucratic structure has been established; coordination will occur among the three involved organizations. Marsol reiterated that no special body would be created. The initiative addresses logistical issues such as equipment customs clearance and local hiring, while sponsorship criteria prioritize projects with solid financing, Andorran hires, and on-site spending—for feature films, shorts, ads, or series.
Bonell highlighted that the Culture Ministry has invested nearly €1.6 million in film production in recent years, underscoring Andorra's compact scale and service accessibility as key advantages for crews.
