Caldea will open its first on-site hotel in December inside the thermal spa centre's tower in Escaldes-Engordany, the centre has said, confirming a slight delay from the "second half of November" opening that general manager Miguel Pedregal had previously announced on several occasions.
The project is in its final construction phase, according to Caldea. The crane used for the hotel build and the roof replacement will be removed next week, while technical and interior fitting-out work continues.
The centre described the opening as a decisive step in Caldea's shift towards a fully integrated resort model, in which thermal waters, accommodation, dining, sport and wellness offerings—including wellness workshops and acrobatic shows—operate as connected services. The hotel is positioned as a four-star lifestyle establishment, with accommodation conceived as an entry point to an overall wellness experience.
According to the centre, the new property will be aimed particularly at business tourism and at companies looking to organise management team meetings, small seminars or professional gatherings. Guests will be able to combine work sessions with activities and relaxation time in the thermal facilities, and will have unlimited access to the spa and gym for the duration of their stay.
Pedregal said the resort aims to offer a wellness model removed from that of traditional spas. He said guests would be able to stay in the tower, use the spa and gym without limits, try treatments without leaving the building and discover Andorra through the eyes of a well-established brand.
The hotel will have 39 rooms across 14 floors, all with panoramic views over Escaldes-Engordany and the surrounding mountains of central Andorra.
Accommodation is divided into five categories: Cozy Room, Comfort Room, Deluxe Suite, Panoramic Suite and The Iconic Duplex. The existing published breakdown lists seven Cozy Rooms; fourteen Comfort Rooms, described as more spacious; fifteen Deluxe Suites equipped with a bathtub at the foot of the bed; and three Panoramic Suites on the tower's upper floors. At the top of the building will be The Iconic Duplex, a duplex suite with a balcony that will crown the property.
The figures provided do not fully reconcile: the room categories listed add up to 40, one more than the stated total of 39. The announcement does not explain the discrepancy.
