Police in Andorra are investigating a break-in at a commercial site in El Tarter, Canillo parish, where four thieves stole tobacco worth around €10,000.

The incident occurred early Wednesday morning. The suspects, who arrived in at least two vehicles including a passenger car and a van, forced open an emergency door—likely with a crowbar—along the CG-2 road. Wearing dark clothing and hoods that concealed their faces, they focused solely on tobacco products before fleeing the scene.

Security cameras captured the robbery, and alarms triggered a swift police response before 4am. Nearby workers from the leisure and restaurant complex, residing in an adjacent building, helped secure the area after hearing the disturbance.

The Property Crimes Group took charge of the probe early Wednesday, despite no formal complaint being filed. Investigators are examining the damaged door, potential fingerprints, and footage from public and private cameras in the area.

Initial assessments suggested an organized group of outsiders possibly with local links, complicated by the challenges of smuggling a vanload of tobacco out of the Principat. The latest indications, however, point to the suspects having already left Andorra.

Damage was limited to the entry point, in addition to the stolen goods. No further updates on leads or the ongoing search have been released.
