FEDA has launched the 'FEDA i tu' web platform and mobile app, giving its 38,000 customers access to hourly electricity usage data, consumption alerts, and personalized efficiency tips.
Sílvia Calvó, the company's director general, and Nerea Moreno, director of Sustainability, Communication, and Customer Relations, introduced the tool to help users track habits and spot savings opportunities. Calvó explained that it provides much more detail than monthly bills, showing daily consumption patterns, peak days, and hourly breakdowns to identify unidentified residual usage.
Data from communicating smart meters becomes available the next day, covering electricity alongside district heating and cooling, electric vehicle chargers, green power, and photovoltaic systems. Users can set daily or monthly consumption thresholds, receiving alerts through push notifications, SMS, or email once processed. The platform also allows downloading billing histories and summaries, plus comparisons with past periods, others on similar tariffs, or parish peers.
A customizable energy profile, built via a household survey, estimates reference usage, breaks down heating or appliance shares, and suggests tailored advice. Users register with their contract number or NIA, but must first ensure personal details held by FEDA are up to date—a requirement supported by a recent campaign to refresh records.
The app consolidates billing and contract management for multiple services and accounts, with sharing options for family or administrators. Covering 38,000 contracts—not equivalent to customer numbers, as some hold several—this marks the initial phase.
Future updates by 2027 will add outage notifications and tariff simulators comparing flat-rate to nighttime plans. By 2028, customers should handle activations and cancellations digitally. Moreno noted work is already underway on these expansions.
