Andorra Recerca + Innovació (AR+I) organised Andorra's first Environmental Education Meeting on Monday, October 19, 2026, bringing together around 20 professionals and representatives of organisations active in environmental education, awareness-raising, heritage interpretation and sustainability.
The gathering was conceived as a practical, participatory professional day, combining presentations with debate and reflection sessions. Attendees shared initiatives already under way in the country and explored ways to strengthen environmental awareness in Andorra. Organisers said the aim was to build mutual understanding, exchange experience and open up new avenues of collaboration among the country's different actors, with AR+I hoping the cooperation will continue over time and lead to shared projects in the field.
The meeting forms part of the cross-border cooperation project Poctefa Semilla REPV, in which AR+I is a partner. The programme runs for three years and involves participants from Navarra, Aragon, Catalonia and France, with the goal of consolidating environmental education through a shared working network across the Pyrenees.
AR+I has been the Andorran territorial reference in the Xarxa Educació Pirineus Vius network since 2012. The cross-border association brings together more than 100 environmental education entities across the Pyrenees and promotes joint resources and initiatives.
The event was organised with the collaboration of the Comú d'Ordino and Andorra Sostenible, through the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Livestock. Ordino joined the Xarxa Educació Pirineus Vius in 2024, reflecting its work in environmental pedagogy and awareness within the framework of the Ordino Biosphere Reserve and the Sorteny Valley Natural Park.
Participants included representatives of FEDA, Andorra Telecom, the Banders corps, the Ministry of Education, APAPMA and other environment-related entities, among them Biocom, La Moixera, Autèntic Abelles, the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley and several environmental education networks from the Pyrenees.
