Key Points
- 80% of Andorran companies required to submit equality plans have fully complied.
- 20 companies outstanding; Equality Department offering targeted support.
- Mandatory sexual harassment protocols required for all firms, regardless of size.
- Government provides training, infographics, and model protocols via business associations.
Mariona Cadena, Secretary of State for Equality and Citizen Participation, reported that 80% of Andorran companies required to submit equality plans have now registered, analysed, and completed the process.
Speaking on the compliance rate, Cadena noted that around 20 companies remain outstanding. The Equality Department is providing targeted support and guidance to help these firms finalise their submissions. She stressed the importance of genuine commitment, warning against treating the plans as mere formalities. "We do not want companies simply to tick the box once they have submitted the equality plan," she said, emphasising that the goal is to foster real actions promoting equality within organisations.
Cadena also reminded businesses that protocols addressing sexual harassment and harassment based on sex are mandatory for all companies, regardless of size or number of employees. "They must be implemented in every company," she underlined.
The government has collaborated closely with business associations to boost awareness. This includes training sessions at the Chamber of Commerce for companies facing challenges, and work with the Andorran Business Confederation to produce an infographic on the protocols. A model protocol is available on the government's website and the Equality Department's page to aid effective rollout.
