Andorra Minister Meets Skål Club Board to Back Tourism Initiatives

Andorra's Tourism and Commerce Minister Jordi Torres, accompanied by ministry director Cristel Molné, met this week with the newly elected board of Skål Club d’Andorra to affirm the government's continued support for the association's initiatives.

The meeting, held at the ministry's offices in Andorra la Vella, introduced the leadership team led by president Joaquim Barceló and vice presidents David Santuré and Joaquim Caspe. The board presented its annual events calendar, designed to invigorate and unite tourism professionals through activities in culture, business, leisure and sports—sectors central to Andorra's economy.

Discussions highlighted the World Tourism Day event on 27 September, with Torres encouraging the club to maintain its lead role and committing the government to "unwavering support" to position it as a key national occasion.

Barceló expressed gratitude for the ministry's steady partnership, emphasising that the 44-year-old Skål Club remains the Principality's longest-standing group for tourism executives. It unites leaders from hospitality, travel agencies, transport, restaurants and consultancies, bolstering the sector's networks.

Torres showed keen interest in the club's diverse programme, while both parties stressed the importance of greater cohesion among industry stakeholders.
