La Massana parish council has awarded a contract for legal advisory services to advance the creation of Aigües de la Massana, a new mixed communal company for managing the complete water cycle.
The council approved the company's formation in December. It will handle drinking water and wastewater networks comprehensively, covering extraction, treatment, distribution, and the construction, maintenance, and operation of infrastructure.
This contract marks the initial step in structuring the entity. Legal advisors will assist in defining, organizing, and implementing the mixed model. Finances councillor Agustí Garcia explained that the approach seeks greater agility and enhanced ability to fund vital investments, securing reliable operation of the water network and resources.
The council chose a mixed structure to collaborate with a specialized partner offering sector-specific knowledge. Legal support will now facilitate preparation of technical reports to launch the company.
