Soldeu Outlet Fair Draws 2,080 Visitors and 30% Sales Boost in Second Edition

Soldeu hosted the second edition of its Outlet Fair on Sunday, attracting 2,080 visitors and achieving a 30% increase in sales over the previous year.

The event took place in Plaça Casa Calbó, next to the ski platform, with around ten local businesses from the textile, accessories, and ski equipment sectors offering products at discounts of 40% to 70%. Each stall averaged 130 sales, results that organisers from Canillo comú's Department of Tourism Promotion and Commerce described as exceeding expectations and fully consolidating the fair after its debut.

The initiative sought to boost local commerce and draw residents and visitors during the quieter final stretch of the winter ski season. Councillor Àlex Kinchella, who oversees tourism promotion and commerce, highlighted the strong response from merchants. "The participating merchants are very pleased with the rise in sales and visitor numbers compared to last year," he said, emphasising the timing amid lower commercial activity. He added that the positive outcome opens discussions on extending future editions by an extra day, subject to merchants' approval.

Canillo comú views the fair as a key tool for stimulating economic activity in Soldeu, with plans already underway for a potential third outing.
