Ian Moya, an 18-year-old singer from Andorra's Incles valley in the parish of Canillo, has become the first from his country to reach the public phase of 3Cat's music competition *Eufòria*. The casting episode, broadcast on Wednesday night, revealed him among the 11 provisional contestants—who will narrow to 10—for the new season.
Moya impressed judges during October's three-day auditions with a Catalan-French rendition of Joan Manuel Serrat's *Paraules d'Amor*. They highlighted the honesty, light, and truth in his voice. This is his second attempt; he reached the final auditions last year, while another Andorran, Àlex Orona, participated but did not advance. Both shared profiles strong in singing and dance.
A winner of Talentejant 2024 and admirer of artists like Michael Bublé, Moya learned of his selection at the end of October when his mother delivered the news—a new season feature involving family members. "It's a dream for me, because it's the perfect competition for me, the one I adapt to best," he said, noting its blend of singing, acting, and Catalan language aligns with his artistry.
The auditions tested contestants rigorously: day one with two a cappella songs, a dance routine—where Moya excelled after past struggles—and an acting exercise; day two with a group performance of FigaFlawas's *Que no s'acabi*, prepared in one morning; and the final day featuring his Serrat cover.
Now studying music production in Girona, Moya favors pop and has prior experience, reaching the finals last June at *Music Meets Tourism* in Gran Canaria with *Unforgettable*. He has been preparing intensely since late October. "We're working hard with great sensations," he said of rehearsals for the first live gala on Friday, 23 January. As one of two provisional picks, he faces low immediate elimination risk while the field shrinks to 10. "It's a huge pride to represent Andorra," he added, eager to showcase his voice and skills across Catalonia.
