The Ministry of Institutional Relations, Education and Universities held the 19th edition of Humanities Activities on Wednesday, focusing on friendship as a tool to promote critical thinking among adolescents.
Around 100 students from the Escola Andorrana de Batxillerat, Col·legi María Moliner, Lycée Comte de Foix, and Col·legi Sant Ermengol, together with ten teachers from Andorra's various education systems, took part in the full-day programme.
Morning sessions featured four collaborative workshops exploring key aspects of personal relationships, including the values of genuine friendship, conflict management, emotional communication, active listening, and empathy. Through group dynamics, audiovisual resources, and creative exercises, participants delved into themes such as trust, group cohesion, solitude, gratitude, and resolving disagreements. The workshops ended with shared reflection spaces that highlighted friendship as an active process essential for personal growth and social unity.
The day continued with an interactive lecture for students by writer and social educator Sara Desirée, titled “Les amistats a l’adolescència: cuidar-nos, entendre’ns i posar límits.” The session addressed group pressures, intense emotions, conflicts, and the influence of social media, providing tools for recognising healthy relationships, assertive communication, and setting boundaries.
Activities will conclude this evening at 7:30pm with a public lecture by Desirée in MoraBanc's auditorium. She will examine factors affecting adolescent bonds, typical relational patterns, and the role of adults in supporting young people through dialogue, emotional validation, and respect to foster secure connections and reduce risks.
