Ray, a 30-year-old singer who began private vocal lessons last October, took first place in the inaugural Unnic Talent competition organised by Unnic Andorra. The event drew 44 entrants from Andorran residents and citizens, with 22 advancing past an initial private casting. From those, 16 reached the semifinals held over two nights at Unnic's Red Bar, and 10 made it to the grand final before an audience of around 200 people.

The final showcased a range of talents including singers, dancers, monologists and magicians. Standout acts included Andorran singer Martha Roquett with an original ballad that captivated the crowd, and Bernard, whose powerful voice earned him the nickname "El Chayanne de Sant Julià" from juror Ivan Lira. Ray closed his performance with "Die on this hill" by Sienna Spiers—a song his partner loves and one he deemed final-worthy—securing the top prize of 1,500 euros despite stage fright that had long held him back.

The dancers known as Braids claimed second place with high-energy routines, while 18-year-old Lucía Ingelmo earned third, awarded by Rocío Calamita representing the Andorran Association for Rare Diseases (AMMA). The audience favourite was comedian Elisa Patakas for her monologue on ageing.

A four-member jury—Susanne Georgi, Tamara Martos, Ivan Lira and Miki Legendario—performed as well: the comedy duo of Lira and Legendario opened with sketches, Martos delivered a dance piece, and Georgi sang. The evening split into two blocks of five finalists each: Valerie, Rich Mind, Martha Roquett, Bernard, Cian, Ericuri, plus the podium winners. While the jury deliberated, a quiz tested audience knowledge of the contest, with prizes for top scorers.

The event carried a charitable element, directing five euros from each ticket to AMMA, highlighted by an opening video from the association on rare diseases in the Principat. Unnic Talent now stands as a platform for emerging local artists across music, dance and comedy.
