The sixth edition of the Fira del Bestiar d'Ordino concluded on Sunday with strong attendance that exceeded expectations. Ordino's cònsol menor, Eduard Betriu, described the turnout as higher than last year and even surpassing some record figures from the event's early years. He noted particularly high participation on Friday from school groups and families, well above initial projections.
Betriu praised several new features, including electric minibuses linking the main fairground to the old town centre. The service proved popular, especially among families who used it to move easily between sites. He also highlighted feedback from craft market stallholders, who reported solid sales over the weekend and view the Ordino event as a key early-spring indicator for mountain fairs.
Sunday's programme opened at 8:30am with a communal breakfast, followed at 10am by a popular omelette contest. Joao, owner of Barra Mar’s, took the prize in the creative omelette category, while Mossèn Fenosa won for the traditional version.
The highlight came with the parish auction of two young Andorran Brown breed cattle—a first for the fair. The 520kg animal went to the Refugi Borda Sorteny bidder, while the 620kg specimen was secured by a representative from restaurant Can Manel.
The day ended with a parade led by buner Albert Adellach, joined by the Galician percussion group Airiños do Baixo, and a performance by Esbart Valls del Nord. Organisers credited favourable weather for boosting crowds at both the livestock venue and the central craft market.
