Andorra la Vella authorities have confirmed a positive outcome from the fourth Motand motorcycle festival, which ended Sunday with high attendance, strong commercial returns, and hundreds of enthusiasts drawn to events across the city.
Held from Friday 26 June to Sunday 28 June, the festival featured around 20 activities at sites including Avinguda Santa Coloma, Parc Fluvial and its car parks, the Intersport car park, and Can Rodes. Highlights encompassed the Moto Fair, classic motorcycle displays, children's areas, simulators, driving workshops, airbrushing zones, and rallies like Rider 468, Road Trip, and Royal Rider. The event closed with a public parade of dozens of motorcycles through city streets.
A key draw on Saturday at 7:30pm was French stunt rider Sarah Lezito's performance at the Can Rodes car park, which attracted more than 600 spectators. Her pre-event promotional video had garnered nearly 1.9 million views, largely appealing to French audiences.
The Rider 468 rally, in its 10th edition and fourth under the Motand umbrella, set a participation record exceeding 250 riders, primarily from France along with groups from Catalonia, Mallorca, Cadiz, and Valladolid. Penya Motorista l’Esquirol vice-president Toni Soler highlighted the commitment of participants traveling long distances. The Road Trip rally, limited to 50 bikes, reached capacity almost 10 days in advance.
Organizers moved the commercial area to Avinguda Santa Coloma this year following trader requests, enhancing visibility and boosting footfall, especially among targeted French visitors. Early feedback from shops and exhibitors indicated solid sales gains, spurring activity around Avinguda Santa Coloma and Parc Fluvial.
Supported by 31 sponsors, the inclusive event welcomed families and riders alike. At Friday's launch, Cònsol Major Sergi González described Motand as a "consolidated" fixture that benefits commerce and tourism. He welcomed Andorra Turisme's expressed willingness to assist with future promotion, despite no current funding, to broaden its reach. González cited rising French visitor numbers and past successes, with full economic data still forthcoming. Organizers emphasized the festival's ties to local businesses as key to its status as a calendar staple.
