Andorra la Vella's Dijousderock festival will return to Parc Central this July for its third edition since revival, featuring eight national acts across four free evenings of live music spanning hard rock and death-punk to author pop, jazz, bossa nova, and fado fusion.
The event stays at the park after last year's positive response, when renovations at Plaça del Poble and Plaça Vinyes necessitated the shift. Councillor for Social Affairs, Youth and Public Space Maria Nazzaro praised the venue's green surroundings, audience closeness, and lively summer vibe. She described it as enabling a welcoming format for outdoor music that encourages lingering and shared enjoyment.
Food trucks and seating areas will return to boost the atmosphere, with entry open to everyone. Culture department head Jan Cartes pointed to a mix of established performers and emerging talents, calling each act highly engaging. Organisers reviewed 12 proposals—excluding one late submission—and favoured fresh faces not featured last year to highlight local talent for diverse audiences.
The schedule kicks off on 2 July with Wave, holders of two albums, and newcomers Lend Me for a hard rock night. Quim Salvat and Makuka take the stage on 9 July; Salvat debuts in the series during his tenth year as a professional, while Makuka returns with an energetic live set and new album. Green Note delivers jazz-bossa fusion with introspective lyrics on 16 July, paired with Argentine power trio Acharco Traviesa covering homeland songs. Super Jam wraps up on 23 July with 90s pop-rock covers, followed by Eugenia Correia's first festival appearance after major national performances.
The final July Thursday brings Els Senyora and Freyja to Plaça Guillemó as a Festa Major warm-up. Nazzaro noted that live music will continue beyond Dijousderock, building excitement for the festivities while offering quality summer options. Launched in 2000 to promote national groups, the council revived the series in 2024.
