Escaldes-Engordany parish council has unveiled its Summer Cultural Activities programme, grouping established events under one banner for free public enjoyment through July, August, and September.
The lineup consolidates cycles such as Dilluns de Dansa, Colors de Música, Espectacles Itinerants, Cultura Popular, Sabors d’Estiu, and Nits d’Estiu als Museus. Organised by the Comú d'Escaldes-Engordany, the initiative seeks to enhance the visibility of local cultural assets, animate public spaces, and offer diverse programming to residents and visitors.
Standout additions include the debut of Cinema en Silenci, an open-air screening in Plaça de l’Església where audiences use wireless headphones for high-definition audio, creating an immersive outdoor cinema experience. The programme also revives Nit del Silenci, featuring three DJs with distinct styles performing at once, allowing listeners to switch channels via headphones.
Dilluns de Dansa reaches its seventh edition, with four dance performances each Monday in July transforming Plaça Coprínceps and Plaça de l’Església into open-air stages showcasing various disciplines. A highlight in Colors de Música is Quim Salvat's concert celebrating a decade of his career, which began in 2016 in Escaldes-Engordany.
Sabors d’Estiu makes its first appearance in the unified programme—marking its own seventh year—with artisan markets, workshops, food zones, and concerts by local musicians. Espectacles Itinerants brings back Turistes i Banyistes in its ninth edition and De Pont a Pont in its fourth, both using theatrical street performances to explore the parish's history and heritage. Nits d’Estiu als Museus rounds out the schedule with guided tours, activities, and talks at local museum facilities.
The council emphasises the programme's role in delivering stable, high-quality culture that values heritage and engages all ages. Full schedules are available on the Comú's website at www.e-e.ad.
