Teams Hola, Patufets.Cat, Omega Force, and Dream Team claimed victory at the 12th World Robot Olympiad Andorra, held on Saturday at the Auditorium of the Aixovall Professional Training Centre.

Andorra Telecom organised the educational robotics competition, which drew 13 teams of young people aged 8 to 18. Teams tackled challenges under the "Ancient Civilisations" theme by designing, constructing, and programming robots to complete missions inspired by historical and cultural heritage. Tasks were adjusted for different age groups to test programming, engineering, and problem-solving abilities.

In the Star category, Hola finished first among Botcraft, Loopagobots, Nintendo Online, Robogo67, and Megarayos. Patufets.Cat took the Elementary title over TeamJJ and Robotics Laser. Omega Force led Junior ahead of Les tres bessones. Dream Team won the new Future Engineers division—for 17- and 18-year-olds—against Xips i Tornavisos.

The event unfolded with tension and focus as competitors made final adjustments to their robots after weeks of preparation. Participants showed strong teamwork, ingenuity, resilience, and quick thinking to overcome obstacles.

Organisers Andorra Telecom described the olympiad as more than a contest, calling it an educational platform that develops vital skills for the future, including computational thinking, creativity, innovation, perseverance, and collaboration. They praised the commitment of the young competitors, along with their families, coaches, and schools, as evidence of growing enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

The competition has become a cornerstone for promoting STEAM vocations in Andorra, providing practical experience in innovation and experimentation to prepare the next generation for technological challenges.
