Andorra Issues Stamp Honoring Senegalese Community's Integration

Correos, Andorra's postal service, has released a new stamp from its Diversitat Andorrana series honouring the Senegalese community in the Principat. Printed in a run of 45,000 copies with a face value of 2.65 euros, it celebrates the group's integration and cultural contributions while marking the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Andorra and Senegal.

The stamp recognises the community's active role in Andorran social and cultural life, despite its small size. Members frequently participate in events highlighting Senegalese traditions through gastronomy, music and dance, promoting intercultural dialogue. Most reside in Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany, drawn by job opportunities in hospitality, construction and retail since immigration increased around 2000. The group has since grown more diverse, incorporating technical students, university attendees and entrepreneurs operating shops and restaurants.

This release gains extra resonance amid two decades of bilateral cooperation in health, education and drinking water access. Correos intends the design—which evokes human bonds from migration, exchange and coexistence—to underscore Andorra's cultural diversity and the Senegalese role in building an open, plural society.

The stamp is available at the Correos office in Andorra la Vella, through the Correos Market platform or via the Philatelic Service.
