Bici Lab Andorra Launches Exhibit Celebrating 10 Years of La Purito Andorra

Bici Lab Andorra has launched a temporary exhibition dedicated to the 10th anniversary of La Purito Andorra, a prominent cyclo-sportive event in southern Europe that has bolstered the nation's reputation as a cycling destination.

The free display, open during the museum's regular hours, will run from 29 July to 13 September. It chronicles the event's development over the past decade, from its origins to its position as a key draw for thousands of cyclists, while underscoring its role in elevating Andorra's global cycling profile.

Visitors can explore a range of heritage artifacts and audiovisual content that illustrate how the race, initiated by retired professional cyclist Joaquim "Purito" Rodríguez, has deepened the country's ties to the sport. Standout items include the leader's jersey from the first edition and the 10th, which reflect the event's expansion within the European cyclo-sportive scene.

Sergi González, Andorra la Vella's first syndic and cònsol major, described the exhibition as a way for visitors to "relive the evolution of the event and understand why it has become one of the major fixtures on the European cyclo-sportive calendar."

Edu Tarrés, head of the Bici Lab Andorra department, emphasized that the centre not only preserves cycling heritage but also conveys "the stories that have made the bicycle an identifying element of the country."

The initiative expands Bici Lab Andorra's rotating exhibits to highlight the events, people, and projects that have forged the nation's cycling culture, reinforcing its mission as a hub for education and preservation.
