The World Press Photo exhibition has closed its first Andorra edition after three weeks at Hotel Pol Espai Cultural in Sant Julià de Lòria, attracting 1,890 visitors from across the country and Pyrenean regions on both Catalan and French sides.

Organizers hailed the turnout as a success that exceeded initial hopes, even with minimal promotion. The final day drew a peak of 236 visitors, forcing staff to extend closing by an hour. Alba Noguera, World Press Photo representative, called it "a very positive experience," crediting partners Grisart Lab and Reunió de Papaia, the venue's quality, and public response. She said it provides basis to view the collaboration optimistically and consider future editions.

Pere Moles, designer from Reunió de Papaia and a main promoter, praised the audience's depth. Visitors averaged one to two hours per visit, studying images, captions, and narratives in an atmosphere of silence, respect, and contemplation. He noted the event drew people aware of photojournalism's impact, beyond mere viewing.

The World Press Photo Memorial, created by Amics del Disseny d’Andorra to honor journalists and photographers killed in the line of duty, received strong acclaim and added a layer of solemn recognition.

Media exposure played a key role, with RTVA's special Avui serà un bon dia programme broadcast live from the site and a TV3 Telenotícies feature that lifted attendance from wider Pyrenean areas.

Institutional backing from Reig Fundació, the Comú of Sant Julià de Lòria, and the government, plus collaborators including Associació de Professionals de la Comunicació d’Andorra (APCA) and Amics del Disseny, enabled the run. Organizers see it as the launch of a continuing effort, affirming Andorra's spot on the global circuit for top photojournalism shows.
