Andorra la Vella Eyes 2027 Reuse of Cirque du Soleil Tent Post-Festival

Andorra la Vella's council is considering ways to make use of the Cirque du Soleil tent for another event in 2027, now that officials have confirmed the Canadian company's show will not clash with the capital's Festa Major.

The local comú noted the change in scheduling during recent talks. Cirque du Soleil is still set to perform in the parish that year under an existing contract, but its dates will steer clear of the main festival. Councilor Sergi González, the capital's major consoler, pointed to assurances from the minister on the matter. He said the Culture Department and minor consoler Olalla Losada are already examining potential uses for the space, building on approaches from past years.

This situation creates room to repurpose the large tent set up in Andorra la Vella for the circus. "First we need to check availability, and if it doesn't overlap with the Festa Major, we'll evaluate it. Costs and feasible options will also factor in," González said.

Pressed on the idea of a major concert, the councilor left the door open without committing. "It could be. We don't know yet," he replied.

No concrete plans are in place. Decisions will hinge on logistics and funding, with assessments continuing.
