Igualada Hoquei Club, the reigning OK Liga champions and six-time European champions, wrapped up its two-day pre-season training camp in Andorra la Vella on Friday at the Joan Samarra Vila Municipal Stadium pavilion.

The Catalan side, coached by Marc Muntané, held sessions on Thursday and Friday to gear up for a demanding campaign that features defending its Spanish title and a run in the WSE Champions League. The full squad, much of the technical team and two executives combined on-rink drills, gym work and group activities to foster cohesion before three players join their national teams.

Deputy Consul Olalla Losada welcomed the group on Thursday, emphasising the prestige of hosting an elite European club in the capital parish. She pointed to Andorra la Vella's top-tier sports facilities and environment as ideal for rigorous preparation.

Muntané singled out the mild climate, excellent infrastructure and surrounding landscape as key factors in choosing the location. Earlier praise from officials and the coach had highlighted Andorra's facilities and weather as draws for such camps.

The squad enters the new season bolstered by new goalkeeper Juan Manuel Carrión Zanetti and forwards Gerard Riba Ovejero and Gerard Oviedo Fors, plus the extension of captain Biel Llanes, last year's breakout performer.
