Ordino's Nits Obertes Draws 420 Visitors in Scaled-Back 2026 Summer Series

Ordino's Nits Obertes summer series concluded successfully, attracting 420 visitors across four events for an average turnout of 105 per performance.

The Ordino council described the 2026 edition as a clear success, despite featuring fewer acts than in past years. Public response remained strong, with each show drawing substantial crowds. The final event on Wednesday featured Duo Gemelle—soprano Laura Coll and guitarist Ekaterina Zaytseva. Planned for the gardens of La Cortinada church, the concert shifted indoors due to poor weather, allowing it to proceed in that heritage space. The setlist covered Italian bel canto arias, multiple versions of Ave Maria, and a mix of Catalan and Spanish songs.

The series began on 15 July at Plaça Major, where Mar Capdevila delivered soul, R&B, jazz, and pop numbers. On 22 July, at the same venue, Júlia Sart and Eugènia Correia performed original Andorran tracks alongside covers in Catalan, English, and Portuguese. The third instalment, on 29 July at Plaça de la Closa, brought Anna Mangot and JoDansa with Cabdal, a work fusing music, contemporary dance, and movement to underscore water as a vital resource.

Council representatives emphasized that scaling back the number of performances did not reduce attendance. Instead, it highlighted consistent high interest, cementing Nits Obertes as a cornerstone summer cultural event in the parish. The format continues to promote accessibility, foster direct connections between performers and audiences, and animate Ordino's public squares and historic sites.
