Santa Coloma is gearing up for its annual Festa Major from Friday, August 21, to Sunday, August 23, with a programme that mixes time-honoured customs and fresh attractions organised by the parish's new Festa Commission.

The event will unfold over three days at various spots around the parish, offering family-friendly pursuits, live music, cultural staples and sports to foster community spirit. Cònsol Menor Olalla Losada commended the commission for upholding classics such as the sardine barbecue, Sunday's communal arrossada and the flams-tossing contest, while weaving in new ideas to broaden appeal across generations.

Friday's schedule opens with the customary bell peal and inaugural fireworks, accompanied by a set from Canillo’s Band Tocant. Revellers can then enjoy a foam party with coca and chocolate, followed by this year's novelty: a soapbox derby racing through local streets. The evening progresses to the sardine barbecue, a Unicornios Lokos concert and a DJ DYDY session.

Saturday blends competition and entertainment for all ages. It begins with a popular padel tournament, then moves to Espai Columba for storytelling, Romanesque art-themed games and kids' activities. Afternoon highlights feature Wipeout inflatables, a mechanical bull for grown-ups and the flams contest. Nightfall brings La Correfoc Band and another DJ DYDY performance.

Sunday spotlights heritage, starting with a pétanque championship and a medieval walking trail around the parish. A solemn mass leads into vermut, sardana dancing with the Ciutat de Manresa cobla and the arrossada. Later come a botifarra-eating contest and the Ball de la Gent Gran for older residents. The festivities wrap with a fluorescent Zumba class led by Tamara Martos, a fireworks castle—subject to weather and fire risk—and a closing DJ DYDY set.
