Young participants showcased skills in programming and problem-solving at the event in Andorra la Vella

The national final of the World Robot Olympiad 2026 took place on Sunday at the Toni Martí pavilion in Andorra la Vella, drawing 312 children and young people from Andorra and various parts of Spain. Divided into 120 teams across 11 categories, competitors demonstrated skills in robotics, programming, and problem-solving through 17 tracks.

Nearly 1,000 spectators attended, with 65 volunteers assisting in the organisation. Challenges were tailored to different ages and skill levels, prioritising both final results and learning processes to foster creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem resolution.

Winning teams in the Future Innovators, Future Engineers, RoboSports, RoboMission Elementary, and RoboMission Junior categories secured spots to represent Andorra and Spain at the international final, scheduled for 8-10 December in Puerto Rico against teams from other countries.

Andorra Telecom, the main sponsor, noted overwhelmingly positive reactions from participants, families, and attendees, describing the event as the best national final to date. The company emphasised its role in promoting educational robotics and STEAM disciplines to spark interest in technology and equip youth for a digital and AI-focused future.

Organisers praised the event as a platform to highlight Andorra's commitment to innovation, technological education, and young talent development, while facilitating exchanges among participants from different regions. They expressed gratitude to the EducaBot Foundation, volunteers, sponsors, and partners for uniting children, teenagers, families, educators, and industry figures in advancing these goals.
