Andorra Taste Festival Draws Crowds on Day Two with 60,000 Tastings Goal

The public phase of Andorra Taste, now in its second day at Prat del Roure in Escaldes-Engordany, continues to draw strong crowds as organisers target around 60,000 tastings to match last year's figures.

The event opened yesterday at midday, following a week of well-attended professional sessions. Families, groups of friends and children filled the venue from the early hours, spreading across gastronomy stations and complementary activities. This year's lineup includes 24 tasting points featuring restaurateurs, pastry chefs, gourmet spaces and local producers, alongside showcookings, bites, children's workshops and live music. The format aims to bring professional-level gastronomy and experiences to a wider audience.

Tourism and Commerce Minister Jordi Torres praised the strong start, citing last year's breakdown of roughly 40,000 tapas and 15,000 drinks. He said expectations remain similar, with hopes of sustaining recent participation levels.

A key change this edition is the venue's new layout, with an enlarged green area offering more space for visitors. The site, previously used for the parish's summer festival, has benefited from this setup. Escaldes-Engordany's senior councillor Rosa Gili welcomed the positive atmosphere and turnout on opening day, along with the added green zone.

Another novelty is the fully digital payment system, replacing traditional tokens. Attendees can now pay directly at stands using bank cards, mobile phones or smartwatches.

The event wraps up tomorrow at 8pm, with organisers anticipating high attendance over the three public days to reinforce its appeal as a major draw.
