Creand Fundació Launches New Season of Activities for Over-60s

Over 30 Workshops and Events Focus on Technology, Health, Sports and Culture

Creand Fundació will start a fresh edition of its Viu en gran programme this September, offering more than 30 educational, recreational and wellness activities for people aged over 60. Running until December, the schedule aims to promote active participation and wellbeing through a mix of learning, sports and cultural experiences.

Activities will take place mainly at L’espai, Creand Fundació’s social and training centre at Carrer Josep Viladomat 17, 1st floor, in Escaldes-Engordany.

New offerings emphasise adapting to technological changes. Participants can join sessions on safe internet navigation, tools to detect and counter online disinformation, and practical introductions to artificial intelligence. A virtual reality experience will also explore Modernisme architecture.

Returning favourites include computer classes on managing files in virtual platforms, memory stimulation via digital tools, graphic design and video editing.

The programme extends to emotional education, language courses and outdoor pursuits such as golf lessons, hiking routes and guided tours of Santuari de Meritxell and the churches in Sant Julià de Lòria.

Cultural highlights feature a concert titled Musicals d’ara i de sempre: de Broadway als Pirineus, led by Andorran pianist and composer Kic Barroc, tracing key 20th-century musicals.

Health-focused talks will cover kidney care, emergency response and prevention, self-care to avoid chronic conditions, and cardiovascular nutrition. A financial education session will help with personal finance management.

Francesca Ros, director of Creand Fundació, said the new activities reflect user requests from L’espai and broader social trends, particularly equipping seniors to handle digital risks.

Registrations open on Wednesday, 9 September at 9am by calling 868 025. In-person spots are limited and allocated first-come, first-served.
