FEDA Cultura's Summer Nights Draws 581 Despite Outdoor Shift and Weather Woes

FEDA Cultura's summer nights series concluded with 581 attendees, matching last year's figures despite a full shift outdoors due to renovations at the MW Electricity Museum and frequent poor weather.

Nine of the ten planned events proceeded around Engolasters Lake, highlighting the area's natural and industrial heritage through music, tours, films, and educational activities. The top draw was a lakeside concert by Ensemble Musicantes from the Pyrenees Ancient Music Festival, which saw 189 spectators.

Nocturnal guided tours along the Engolasters Hydroelectric Path quickly filled up, leading to extra sessions that together hosted over 150 people. The theatrical tour "Dolça FHASA" began with one showing but added a second amid strong interest before rain forced its cancellation.

Astronomy sessions led by Detrás del Cielo adapted with talks on cloudy or rainy nights, though a new solar observation activity fell victim to heavy showers. Audiovisual offerings featured two distinct formats: a subtitled Catalan screening of director Nicolas Samsoen's short documentary Eco de Groenlàndia at Casa dels Guardes, supported by FEDA; and a collaboration with Ull Nu Festival presenting the family film Solan & Eri, missió a la Lluna by the lake. The movie employs space race satire to underline that technological advances hold value only when benefiting society.

MW Electricity Museum coordinator Fran Alcázar described the outdoor-only format as a major logistical challenge, with a fresh activity each week. She noted that public response shows clear enthusiasm "to experience the heritage up close and enjoy the Engolasters surroundings, even when the weather doesn't fully cooperate."
