Sant Julià de Lòria will host its 23rd Vila Medieval festival from September 25 to 27, filling the parish centre with around 50 stalls and turning the area into a fantasy realm under the theme "A World of Fantasy".
The family-oriented event will offer markets, roaming performances, music, storytelling, crafts, workshops and interactive activities drawing on Andorran legends and mythical creatures. Stalls and attractions will occupy key locations such as Mercadal dels Traginers on Avinguda Verge de Canòlich, recreating ancient trade routes between valleys. Other zones include Racó dels Encanteris in Plaça Major, Espai dels Trobadors at Placeta de Casa Comuna, Tocador Reial in Placeta de l'Església, Bosc Encantat in Jardins de la Fàbrica Reig, and Refugi dels Menairons at Aparcament Reig Patrimònia. Plaça de la Germandat will serve as the main stage for major shows.
Children can join workshops on witch calligraphy, making fantasy animals and lucky charms, medieval face painting, storytelling, plus rides like the giant Torniquet and Drac. Roaming puppet shows will feature acts such as El Drac Verd, El Chdong-Dong, Gnoma and El viatge d’en James.
Local groups will perform prominently. Esbart Laurèdia will present medieval dances based on Andorran folklore—including fairies, menairons and demons—on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, it will team up with Colla de Geganters for a reenactment of the Dama Blanca d’Auvinyà legend, featuring a giants' planting and parade. Sunday's music highlights in Plaça de la Germandat include a joint performance by Coral Rocafort and Petits Cantaires Lauredians, followed by Trèvol's concert at 5:30pm. Escola d’Art de Sant Julià will showcase local crafts, student works and hands-on activities in Bosc Encantat.
The festival kicks off Friday at 6:30pm in Plaça de la Germandat with Líquid Dansa's Dones de Llegenda. Troba Veritas will roam throughout the three days, offering traditional and medieval tunes, dances, calls and communal sing-alongs. The Comú noted that the programme aims to immerse visitors in a legendary universe across the parish streets and squares.
