Creand Fundació has launched the fifth edition of its Campus de l’Experiència programme in partnership with the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC), marking a new record enrolment of 90 students aged over 50 in Andorra.
The initiative, which began on Wednesday at the Creand building’s third floor, doubles participation since its 2021-2022 debut. Among the group, 36 are enrolled in undergraduate-level studies, 54 are in their second postgraduate year after finishing the initial three-year cycle, and 13 are first-time participants. No prior qualifications are needed, and completers of 30 ECTS credits receive a Diploma in the Senior University Programme in Culture, Science and Society from UIC Barcelona.
Classes occur one day a week, mixing in-person sessions in the Creand auditorium with live online broadcasts. The dynamic curriculum spans languages, classical culture, music, history, art, science, philosophy, geography, economics, cinema, technology and society, aiming for a broad perspective on knowledge and contemporary challenges. Students engage through participation, cultural outings and a final project, with evaluation based on coursework rather than exams.
Francesca Ros, director of Creand Fundació, highlighted the programme’s strong reception, calling it a unique chance for those over 50 to keep learning, share knowledge and experiences, and contribute actively to Andorra’s social and cultural life.
The course extends to June 2027. Third-year participants qualify for the EU’s Erasmus+ Senior scheme; last year, 24 students from various levels completed training stays at universities in Vienna (Austria), Udine (Italy), Zagreb (Croatia), Częstochowa (Poland), Liberec (Czech Republic) and Zvolen (Slovakia).
