Andorra's second Research Week will run from 16 to 21 November, offering sixteen activities across ten participating institutions, the Ministry of Institutional Relations, Education and Universities has announced.
The programme expands on the first edition, with the stated aim of bringing scientific knowledge closer to the public and raising the profile of researchers working in the country.
The week opens on 16 and 17 November with the 18th Research Debates, held from 6pm to 9pm at the MoraBanc building. Both sessions will address natural hazards and Andorra's capacity to anticipate and prevent them, covering slope movements, seismic risk, extreme weather events and avalanches.
Artificial intelligence is another central theme, with activities on algorithmic bias and the technology's applications in education, business and tourism. The programme also includes debates on the relationship between science and public policy and presentations of research projects developed by universities.
In health, an interactive workshop on 19 November will examine how advanced therapies are developed, taking participants through the stages from basic research to patient application.
The week closes on Saturday 21 November with two field activities on biodiversity: Safari invisible at the Segudet river and Posa veu a l'ornitologia at the rec del Solà and the camí del Pont Pla.
Participating organisations include Andorra Recerca i Innovació, the University of Andorra, Universitat Carlemany, Universitat UDDI, the Societat Andorrana de Ciències and Cellab, alongside the government and other collaborating institutions.
Schedules, venues and registration requirements for each activity are available in the full programme for the second Andorra Research Week.
