AAVA's Vintage Car Parade Delivers Christmas Gifts to Andorran Youth Centre

Around 60 members of the Andorran Association of Vintage Vehicles (AAVA) took part in a longstanding Christmas charity parade on Saturday midday, delivering gifts to about 30 children and teenagers living at the Gavernera residential education centre (CRAE).

The event featured some 30 classic cars, which participants first displayed in the car park of Sant Ermengol school near the centre. The young residents admired the vehicles before selecting one to ride in with its owner for a festive tour through the main streets of Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany. The convoy proceeded with horns blaring, led by the association's own Santa Claus figure—known locally as the "oldest Santa."

Gifts were handed out at the end of the parade, tailored to the children's needs. Centre educators compile a list of practical items in advance, including essentials and materials to support educational activities. A traditional hot chocolate gathering rounded off the afternoon.

This annual tradition, running for decades, aims to bring joy and support to vulnerable minors at the Gavernera centre through community solidarity and celebration.
