The 32nd edition of Andoflora, under the theme "Plants that Care," runs from May 18 to 24 at Prat Gran in La Massana. The venue has been redesigned to offer greater space for more than 20 gardening and floristry operators, plus a pavilion showcasing natural products tied to botany, gastronomy, natural cosmetics, and jewelry.
While the plant and flower market opens on Friday, May 22, the festival begins on Monday with a full week of workshops and talks centered on the theme. This extended format, introduced last year, includes a professional day at Hotel Rutllant dedicated to biodiversity and sustainable landscape management—both rural and urban—in the face of climate change. Sessions will cover future strategies for green spaces and the mental health impacts of green infrastructure.
Tourism councillor Mònica Solé emphasized the strengthened interpretive route of floral art installations across the parish. Highlights include a luminous garden in Plaça de les Fontetes, supported by Comú de Nord Andorra and complemented by water lily features at the fountain; floral displays at roundabouts and Plaça del Quart; and an exhibition of last year's photography contest winners at Mola de Cal Quico, where a new contest is now open.
A fresh artistic highlight is Echoos Espai Experiencial Andbank, a technological setup where visitors use electrodes to convert plant touch into sound and visuals, as described by Tourism Director Emma Jiménez.
The schedule features two open dance parties with live music: one on Saturday evening in Plaça de les Fontetes and a closing event at Prat Gran. Parish organizations support a wide cultural lineup, including workshops on medicinal plants and their health benefits—such as crafting natural ointments—and family sessions on horticulture with aromatic and medicinal varieties.
Weekend events appeal to all ages, with music acts, dance displays, a sardana circle, children's vegetable printing workshops, and an ethnobotanical outing to identify local plants, followed by a wild foraging cooking session.
