Andorra Tourism has launched its latest Cirque du Soleil production, themed around the history of Ràdio Andorra, with a storyline following fictional characters Glòria and Lasso. In the 1940s, the pair each wrote to the pioneering station requesting the same song, prompting them to journey to Andorra and meet.
Presented on Thursday to tourism sector representatives, the show marks the 12th edition and runs for 22 performances from July 3 to August 2 at the Prada Casadet bus park. Each session offers 3,150 seats—a reduction of around 400 from last year's 3,500 after eliminating areas with poor visibility—for a total capacity of 69,300 tickets. Prices hold steady, with general seats from €26 to €32, central from €30 to €37, preferred from €36 to €43, and premium up to €59. Doors open at 8pm, pre-show entertainment starts at 9.40pm, and performances begin at 10pm. General ticket sales open on May 11.
The production features four worldwide premieres, two other unseen acts, adapted versions of prior numbers, and two live singers—Blaza and Nicole—evoking Ràdio Andorra's voices and jazz legends. Enric Torres, Andorra Tourism's director of product and events, called it "identified 100% with the country," noting the station's reach from Africa to the US as Andorra's first international promotion. Tourism Minister Jordi Torres described the theme as deeply tied to local identity, succeeding last year's "Il·lu" show.
That edition drew 64,548 attendees at 82% occupancy, an 8.3 satisfaction score, and €18.39 million economic impact—up from €17.84 million in 2024—despite €4.65 million costs, €1.94 million in revenue, and €2.71 million event expenses. Some 84% of visitors attended, 70% citing it as their main reason for coming; 59% were repeaters, 79% would return, with an average 2.5-night stay and 8.8 overall rating.
Organizers aim to match or beat these figures in July, Andorra's slowest summer month. Torres highlighted each show's €122,000 cost as offering strong value to attract over 3,000 people nightly, with occupancy above 75% and ratings over 8 counting as success. This and next year's shows close the contract through 2027, leaving future options open without obligating successors. Officials are assessing alternatives while not ruling out continuation, emphasizing the event's cross-party support from the tourism sector and uncertainty over the 2027 venue if Espai Capital construction starts.
