Andorra will host what its creators describe as the first original màkina track written and recorded in Catalan. The song, titled "Andorra Remember Festival Vol. 1," was created by singer Naiara Hernández (known as Naiara HL), producers 2WORLDS and DJs Rubén XXL and Marki & Vega. It will be premiered on Saturday, 13 December at the Tabola in La Massana as part of the Andorra Remember Festival, which this year marks its second anniversary.

Hernández says the project aims to give the festival a voice in Catalan and to assert the language’s presence in a musical style that has rarely featured it. According to her, the producers provided an English lyric which she proposed translating and adapting into Catalan; she adjusted some lines to preserve rhyme and rhythm. The song’s lyrics celebrate Andorra’s mountains, snow and landscape as a kind of paradise and portray the Andorra Remember Festival as a magical night. The track is also intended as an anthem for the festival team.

At the Tabola event, local DJs Marki & Vega will play the track and Hernández will perform it live. Organisers say the project seeks to make a mark from Andorra by linking electronic music to national identity and promoting Catalan within a genre where it has had little presence.

The Andorra Remember Festival brings together fans of “remember” music, an umbrella term that includes styles such as màkina and bakalao, which were popular in the 1990s and 2000s in Catalonia and the Valencian Community. On 13 December the Tabola — described by organisers as an iconic venue for Andorran nightlife — will feature sets from Marki & Vega, 2WORLDS, Skudero, Rubén XXL, Dani BPM, Edu_Art and others. Doors open at 23:00 and the new track is scheduled to debut around 01:00 with a planned surprise in the staging.

The team behind the Andorra Remember Festival also organises the Sant Julià Remember. Hernández additionally co-wrote and performed "Guardians dels sense veu," the official song for Andorra’s animal shelter, which she says will be released soon after being premiered at a recent Poblet de Nadal event.
