Andorra's Bishop Co-Prince Josep-Lluís Serrano Pentinat presided over a Christmas Eve eucharistic celebration at La Comella penitentiary in Andorra la Vella on Wednesday, 24 December, at 10am. Around 40 inmates attended the Jubilee of Hope service, held in a room set up as a chapel with an altar featuring the Virgin of Meritxell.

The event brought together inmates, volunteers, and professional staff in a specially meaningful holiday gathering. Serrano Pentinat shared moments with participants before and after the mass, which was concelebrated by Ramon Sàrries, rector of Andorra la Vella and the diocese's delegate for prison pastoral care, along with secretary general David Codina. Justice and Interior Minister Ester Molné Soldevila was also present, representing institutional figures.

Following the celebration, attendees sang Christmas carols, and inmates received a prayer booklet as a keepsake. The visit highlighted the co-prince's ongoing engagement with the prison community during the festive season.

Serrano Pentinat is scheduled to preside over another Christmas Day eucharistic celebration tomorrow at Sant Esteve parish in Andorra la Vella, with participation from Sàrries.
