Andorran Children Deliver Wish Lists to Three Kings' Messenger in Escaldes-Engordany

Children queued up in Plaça Coprínceps in Escaldes-Engordany this morning to hand over their final wish lists to the royal messenger ahead of the Three Kings' visit tonight.

Families gathered early, filling the square with excited youngsters clutching letters for the Reis d’Orient. Even before the royal page and his assistants arrived, the area buzzed with anticipation. Many children had already submitted their requests at other locations around Andorra, but they joined the line here for a personal chat with the messenger. Vega, for instance, had dropped off her letter at a basketball event but returned to tell the page directly about the gifts she hopes to receive.

As each child passed their letter, the page handed out sweets, while hot chocolate warmed them against the cold. "This year we've decided to give the kids some hot chocolate—with this weather, it's the least we can do," said Jaume Ambor, president of the Unió Proturisme d’Escaldes.

Books and comics topped the wish lists this year, suggesting the Three Kings will need to visit every bookstore in the Principat. Yerai asked for a Nintendo game, a backpack, a book for a friend, and a football book for another. Maria requested a book and a towel "because mine is too short," she laughed.

Assistants kept the line orderly, ushering children forward one by one. Nervous but eager, they shared every detail of their requests. "We're really excited for tonight," said Hugo and Nicole, capturing the palpable magic in the air—for many, this promises to be the year's most enchanting night.
