The Escena Nacional d'Andorra (ENA) production *Abrakadabra* will open a season at Barcelona's Teatre Aquitània on 3 April 2026, running every weekend through the end of the month.

This fully Andorran bittersweet comedy, which blends sharp humour, nostalgia and tenderness to explore death, family bonds and second chances, marks a milestone for the Principality's performing arts. Written by Juanma Casero—2023 Grandalla Crèdit Andorrà Prize winner at the 45th Literary and Arts Night—and directed by Joan Anton Rechi, it features Meri Duró alongside Oriol Guillem, Joan Hernandez, Joel Pla, Irina Robles, Elena Santiago, Elisabet Terri and Toni Zamora. Co-produced by the ENA, Festival Andorra Crea and L’Animal Escola de Teatre, the show boasts eight actors and a large technical team—a scale Casero, L’Animal's director and production lead, described as ambitious and rare for local projects.

Casero highlighted the logistical challenges of transporting scenery, costumes and cast across borders, involving customs procedures and precise coordination with the venue. "When we told Teatre Aquitània we had eight actors, they asked if we were crazy," he said, noting the financial support from the ENA that enabled the venture. "We're very excited," he added, while acknowledging the "dizziness" of the challenge and the need to build both local audiences and international projection for Andorran talent.

The production follows its domestic success with a return engagement for local viewers on 21 March at Andorra la Vella's Teatre Comunal, as part of Cap Butaca Buida day—a Catalan theatre initiative Andorra is joining this year through a partnership between the commune and ENA.
